The Nile

The Nile River is the most important feature of Egyptian Landscape.
Herodotus refers to Egypt as The “Gift of the Nile”, as without it, there would be no Egypt. The Nile provides greenery, nature and fertile soil all around it, allowing Egyptians to adopt agriculture and food surpluses – because of the Nile river. Without it, there would be no civilizations living in Egypt.

The Nile also served as a highway uniting upper and Lower Egypt, allowing the Egyptians to transport crops, food, troops, heavy objects and enabled trade and communication.
Egypt was also blessed with 3 seasons of flooding, harvesting, and seeding, providing the Egyptians with fertile soil to plant crops and nature.
